Delete your account

You can delete your Kindred account at any time, in the app or by email. Deleting is permanent. Here is how, and what happens to your data.

In the app

1. Open Kindred and go to You.
2. Tap Safety and defaults.
3. Tap Delete account and confirm.

Your account is deleted straight away.

Without the app

Email us from the address you sign in with and ask us to delete your account. If you sign in with your phone number, put the number in the email. You don’t need to install the app.

What we delete

Straight away: your name, email address and phone number, birthday, profile, preferences, photos, verification selfie and ID, wali invitations, the devices we send notifications to, and your sign-in. Any open matches end. Backups that still hold these details are erased within 30 days.

What we keep

These stay, no longer linked to your name or contact details:

• your matches and the messages you sent, so the other person keeps the conversation
• the shared reads from your matches, and your answers to the levels
• reports you made or that were made about you
• the record of what you agreed to when you signed up

Where safety or the law requires it, we may also keep a minimal record, for example that an account was banned and why. The Privacy Policy has the details.
